You will be picked by one of our representatives at the airport. He will take you to your hotel. You can rest for the day, and later, in the evening you will have welcome dinner along with cultural dance. You will stay overnight at the hotel.
Island Peak Climbing Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

Day 2 35 Minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840) and trek to Phakding, 4 hours
You will take a thrilling flight to the Lukla, the second most dangerous airport in the world. The flight will present you with astonishing views of the Himalayan mountains and gorgeous sceneries. Upon arriving at Lukla, you will meet with other team members and begin your trek towards Phakding. You will descend down on an easy trail through a forest and reach Phakding where you will stay overnight in a lodge.
Note: Lukla Flights may depart and return to Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu Airport. Ramechhap airport is a 4 hours drive from Kathmandu so we will get started for the airport around 3 or 4 am.

Day 3 Trek to Namche Bazar, 5-6 hours walk
After having breakfast, you will begin trekking through fine pine and juniper forests. Further, you will walk along the Dudh Koshi River all the way up to the Namche Bazar. On the way, you will get to witness enchanting views of snow-capped mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), Mt. Nuptse, and many other mountains. Before reaching Namche Bazar, you will cross several suspension bridges and go through small villages. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 4 Rest, Explore and acclimatization day at Namche Bazar
Today is your first acclimatization day in the Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is one of the biggest residing areas of Sherpas. You will spend the day by exploring the region and going on a short excursion to the Everest View Hotel from where you will get to see amazing views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains. You will get to experience the lifestyle, tradition, and culture of people (Sherpa's) living in this extreme region.

Day 5 5-6 hours walk to arrive at Tengboche
You will begin your day with an easy walk up to the Phunki. You will then go through forested trail and ascend all the up to the Tengboche where you will visit the famous and ancient Tengboche monastery. This is also the largest monastery in the Everest region. You will get to see a very good view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Thamserku from here. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 6 Around 4-5 hours trek to Dingboche
You will begin trekking through rich forests of rhododendron, birch, and conifers. Further, you will descend, cross Imja River, and ascend towards Pangboche. On the way, you will get to see captivating mountain views. You will visit Pangboche monastery and reach the confluence of the Lobuche River. From here, you will descend to a river and ascend to reach Dingboche your last destination of the day. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 7 3-4 hours walk to reach at Chhukung
You will wake up early and have your breakfast. After that, you will traverse on a scenic trail along with the stunning views of Island Peak. You will reach Chhukung where you will stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 8 Rest and acclimatization with climb Chhukung Ri (5550m)
Today is another rest day for you to make your body acclimatized with the increased altitude. You will spend your day exploring the Chhukung village and also go on a small hike to Chhukung Ri from where you will get to see gorgeous scenic views. You will also get to see a spectacular view of Island Peak and other surrounding mountains from here. After spending some time at the Chhukung Ri, you will trek back to your lodge to stay overnight.

Day 9 Ascent to Island Peak Base Camp, 3-4 hours
You will begin trekking along the Lhotse glacial moraine. Further, you will trek through a diverse range of terrains along with the superb landscape views and river valley. You will trek on the winding trail and reach the base of the Island Peak where you will be staying for the night. You will also have a pre-climbing training that will inform you about the proper uses of gear like crampons, ax, rope, harness, extra. You will stay overnight at the camp.

Day 10 Summit Island Peak Climbing (6,160m) and back to Chhukung
Today is a big day. You will be going to reach the top of Island Peak. You will wake up early in the morning and begin trekking on a sandy trail. Further, you will trek on the grassy trail and enter in the boulder trail. As you will trek further, the mountain trail will get narrow and snowy ridgeline will become our new path.
The trail from here will be difficult and you will also need to use the rope to cross several crevasses. Upon reaching the top of the Island Peak, you will get to breath-taking views of the mountain landscape. After soaking the beauty from the top, you will return back to Chhukung for the night stay.

Day 11 Trek back to Pangboche, 4-5 hours walk
You will descend back on the same trail and reach Pheriche. On the way back, you will see marvelous views of many snow-capped mountains. You will descend through a hillside covered with juniper and rhododendron trees to reach Pangboche. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 12 4-5 hours trek down to Namche Bazar
After having breakfast, you will descend to the Imja Khola. Further, you will trek through thick forest and reach Tengboche. You will take a short break to have lunch. After that, you will again go through a fine forest of rhododendron & juniper and reach Namche Bazar. On the way, you might get to see snow-leopards, mountain goats, and colorful pheasants. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 13 Around 5-6 hours trek down to Lukla
You will descend on a steep trail and cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. You will go through several small villages and forested trail to reach Lukla. Upon arriving Lukla, you will rest and explore the region. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 14 Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu
After having delicious breakfast with the incredible views of the Himalayan mountains, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The flight will offer you last views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains and hills. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 15 Reserve Day for Summit otherwise Free day at Kathmandu
This extra one day for contingency in case of unfavorable weather during summit Island Peak. If we are unable to summit Island Peak on day 10 due to bad weather or some other reason and acclimatization problem, it is useful to have an extra day. If the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day, we will continue our return journey to Lukla. And Free day at Kathmandu.

Day 16 Final Departure Day
Today, you will be taken to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back to your home after breakfast. Do check your room double before checking-out of the hotel.
